Along with the lack of Anti-Virus programs, Google & everybody else has dropped support for G4 systems.so you're stuck with Leopard & Safari 5.0.6.no Chrome.(unless you d/l'd it 2 years ago).this laptop is for people who just want to reflect on 2006.i will NOT recommend this Mac to anyone under the age of 40, or anyone who's new to computers.12 years ago, this laptop was the "say all & be all" of laptops.Bluetooth, WiFi, good speed (that's the signature of all Macs).but now? this is just for sentimental value (a lot like an HD-DVD player).that's all i have for is ONLY for using vintage software & for remembering 2006.Thank you all.Peace.& God bless.Ī-Weapons.South Bronx, NYC. i also have the PowerMac G4.that one takes 4GBs. I really had fun going to the internet with this laptop. unfortunately.there are no antivirus programs for Leopard OS.(they say the PPCs doesn't need antivirus software.but i don't believe that at all).LOL.the speed is decent with the 2GB RAM 's like Windows 7 32Bit for me, it's like going t o a museum.

It has a capacity of 2GBs of RAM.& has a 1.67Ghz PPC processor (Intel hadn't crept in until 2005-2006).it's the last of it's kind.the keyboard & the backlid lights up.it uses the legendary IDE HDD.& if this was would rival the 2010 Macbooks & the MBPs (Macbook Pros).BUT!!? this is 2017.so unless you're ONLY using Pro Tools 8.OR!!? you're just surfing the internet (email, YouTube videos).this laptop is NOT for you.

This machine is great for kids or people who don't stream a lot of movies, or someone looking to edit photos or create music in Garage band. Itunes, works well even if it's an older version and you can purchase ilife for it as well, since you all the software is older it will be a fraction of the price for newer versions. Using Camino and Tenfour Fox will ensure that y ou can use almost all web content minus a few site as stated before. You can also sync contacts with it on the calendar and email/sms contact.

If you have an android phone that is on 4.0 or higher you will need Sync Mate in order to use the phone as a storage device to copy over files. I recommend buying only the 1.3+ processors, MAXING out the RAM to 2GB, loading OSX 10.5 and installing Mplayer and VLC.
Streaming movies from Netflix's or other Flash sites may be tricky as they do not support the PPC processor, however watching a DVD or most downloaded movies is easy and handles well on the machine. With the use of HTML5 built in natively you can still use most web pages in both normal and mobile mode. In 2013 this computer still holds it weight against other machines for Email, Web usage, and watching moves. Old but still operational for todays computing needs.
